Affecting mucus drainage in the nose, sinusitis is a temporary infection that may last up to a month while chronic sinusitis can last three months or longer. Caused by an infection, nasal polyps, or the swelling of the lining of the sinuses, sinusitis can also develop from allergic reactions. Some common signs and symptoms of sinusitis include:

How Is Sinusitis Treated?
Our medical team may treat some forms of bacterial sinusitis with prescribed antibiotics. If the cause is fungal, we may recommend an antifungal medication or nasal corticosteroid spray to prevent or reduce inflammation. Other noninvasive remedies include treatments for allergies causing sinusitis and other oral or injected medications to reduce the size of the nasal polyps and lessen congestion. However, severe sinus infections or chronic sinusitis may require methods for relief, including:
Balloon sinuplasty: If you suffer from severe sinus infections or chronic sinusitis, you may want to consider a functional endoscopic sinus surgery or balloon sinuplasty, a minimally invasive procedure that we offer to expand infected nasal passages. Sinusitis occurs when the nasal passage inflames, reducing the size of passages and preventing mucus and bacteria from properly draining, leading to breathing issues.
Turbinate reduction: Turbinates clean and humidify air as it passes through the nostrils into the lungs, but the bony structure surrounding vascular tissue and a mucous membrane can become inflamed by an infection, allergies, or some other irritation. Turbinate reduction takes ten minutes and involves a needle-like instrument inserted into the turbinates, transmitting radiofrequency energy to reduce inflammation, improve airflow through the nose, and enable sinuses to drain properly.
Sinus surgery with Propel®: A lightweight sinus stent targets inflammation in the sinuses and provides relief for chronic sinusitis. The stent dissolves in about 45 days.
Sinus surgery with SINUVA®: This FDA-approved stent shrinks nasal polyps, expands the ethmoid sinus, and improves the sense of smell, delivering anti-inflammatory medication for 90 days until removed by a physician.

I started my journey with Crystal Canyon in 2022. Tey are very informative and surgery was scheduled quickly. Well the day came for surgery and found out I had COVID. Surgery was cancelled. I got rescheduled for May of 2023, (this was due to my schedule not Crystal Canyons). When surgery came it went very well, I could not be happier. The results and outcome are life changing. Communication with the office is good. Doctor is attentive and takes time to explain things when you have questions. I definitely recommend and have recommended Crystal Canyon to other friends.
